Henry Diaper commenced business in 1860 as a public warehousekeeper by renting vaults in the famous Albert Docks warehouses on the bustling Liverpool waterfront. Nearly fifty years later a private Parliamentary Bill was passed empowering Diapers to issue negotiable and transferable Warrants for products stored in its warehouses. Even today these key fiscal instruments continue to be traded on the World Commodity Markets. In 1909 the following words were written in the India Rubber Journal:
“Their selections are expected as standard, their weight notes are treated as certificates and their warrants issued under special Act of Parliament, are accepted as good security in banking circles. It is therefore no great surprise that this firm has attained its present position of trust.”
Henry Diaper & Co Ltd has now grown into a broad based organisation bringing togethr the specialised storage of high value, time critical consumer products from prime UK logistics centres backed up with a comprehensive distribution fleet and freight forwarding operation.
