No 10 January/February 2007

A very Happy New Year to all Association members! In a few short weeks the exhibition 'Fisherman, Ferryman,Sailor, Spy' will come to an end and we did not want to let the occasion pass without some commemoration. Therefore on the final weekend of the exhibition on March 3 & 4 we are putting on some extra events and these are detailed in the attachments. The second event on the 4th of March is a mini conference/family event and a chance for people to get together. We have 100 places available so booking is essential. There is a small charge to cover the costs of the buffet lunch. Those travelling from afar may want to take advantage of the special Diaper rate at the Dolphin Hotel.

Future Events

Don't forget to book your place on the Southampton Cemetary Walk on 25 March or to come along to 'Rev Davies Historical Pageant' at Peartree on 22 April a leaflet will be sent out with the next newsletter. Our final talk at Tudor Merchant's Hall takes place on 28 February all about John Diaper and The Titanic, its likely to be popular in this 95th anniversary year so don't forget to book your place on 023 80 715105.

We would like to record our thanks to Gloria Tack who has acted as our events booking secretary and who is 'retiring' in April.

Family Tree Volume

Orders have now reached 60 and we have spoken to several more publishers and hope we have found one who can take on over a hundred and forty pages and 6,500 entries!
